What does vocal range mean?
Vocal range is the span of musical notes—from the lowest to the highest pitch—that a human voice can produce comfortably and clearly without strain. It is determined by vocal cord anatomy and resonance chambers, and is measured in octaves or specific scientific pitch notations
Our services
Knowing your vocal range allows you to find songs that fit your voice, transpose sheet music into keys you can comfortably sing, and avoid vocal strain or damage. While ranges can be slightly expanded through proper voice training and vocal exercises, most individuals operate within a set, natural capacity of about one-and-a-half to three octaves.
Basic
- Soprano: Highest female/treble voice.
- Alto (Contralto): Lowest female voice.
- Tenor: Highest standard adult male voice.
- Bass: Lowest male voice type.
- Intermediate types include Mezzo-Soprano and Baritone
